Start your event budget in Lahore from the total
Agree the total your family or company is comfortable with first. Then build the budget line by line from real quotes, and adjust guest numbers or functions if the total runs over.
Step 1: guest count
Most venues and caterers charge per head, so guest count is the biggest lever in your budget. Estimate it per function, not just for the wedding as a whole.
Step 2: list every cost line
| Line | How to estimate it |
|---|---|
| Food and venue, each function | Guests × per-head quote |
| Venue rent (if separate) | Venue quote |
| Decor, stage and lighting | Decorator or planner quote |
| Planning and coordination | Planner quote |
| Photography and video | Photographer quote |
| Outfits, jewellery, makeup | Family estimate and artist quotes |
| Invitations, music, transport | Quotes |
| Contingency | Around 10% of the total is a sensible starting buffer |
Step 3: get quotes in writing
Ask every supplier for a written quote listing what's included and what costs extra, especially service charges, generator fuel and setup fees.
Step 4: cut costs without it showing
- Trim the guest list; it's the biggest lever.
- Combine functions or hold smaller ones at home.
- Choose weekday or off-peak dates if venues offer lower rates.
- Spend decor money on the stage and entrance, where guests look.
- Mix fresh and artificial flowers.

What to ask for in a quote
A useful quote lists every item separately: stage, backdrop, florals, lighting, furniture, sound, setup and teardown, and any coordination fee. It should say which function each item is for and what happens if the guest count changes. If a quote shows one total with no detail, ask for the breakdown before you pay an advance.
Small-budget events that still feel special
A smaller budget works best when it is focused. Spend on the things guests notice most, usually the stage, the entrance and the lighting, and keep the rest simple. Hosting a function at home saves on venue costs, and fewer, fuller arrangements look better than many thin ones.
