Home or hall?
Many DHA families host the dholki, mayun, mehndi and nikkah at home and move the barat and walima to a hall or marquee. Home functions feel personal and save on venue costs, but need a plan for space, power, parking and neighbours. As an event planner in DHA Lahore, we look at your lawn, lounge and rooftop first, then suggest which functions fit at home.
A typical timeline
- Four to six weeks before: confirm functions, guest counts and the look for each night.
- Two weeks before: share supplier and vehicle details for gate entry.
- A few days before: house lighting goes up.
- Each function day: setup in the morning or afternoon, with the event finishing on time.
Rooftops and lawns
DHA homes often have both. Rooftops suit dholkis and birthdays, with fairy lights and a small stage. Lawns suit mehndis and nikkahs for larger guest lists, with a level stage base and floor covering.
